Subprime cuts

From today’s WSJ: " The U.S. beef industry is trying to fight recession-related woes by promoting new, cheaper cuts from less popular parts of the steer."

So if one day you find "Denver Cut," "Country-Style Ribs," and "Western Griller," you might want to think twice despite the attractive price tag.

The good news is: price for T-bone fell 7.8% in 2009. Rib-Eye: 5.1%. Porterhouse: 12.1%. Better start planning for the next BBQ party!
